I came across this moth in the early hours one morning two years ago in my parents' yard. It was only recently that I found out what it's called. I checked out my favourite bug site www.thaibugs.com. It's a zygaenid moth called
Pidorus gemina. This was the one and only time that I came across a moth with a colouration of this kind.

What unique colors on this moth. It really stands out against the greenery. Your photography is always so crisp Kanak. It's a joy to visit with you. Have a nice day.
What a pretty moth! Lovely photo you captured of it. Looks like it was posing just for your camera. Thank you for visiting my blog. It's nice to meet you! :)
It is beautiful . I have never seen it here.
WOW I love its antenna! It must be a male! And what a handsome male too! :D
Oh my goodness, I've never seen a moth like that before!! But just look at those antenna, how long and feathery, amazing pictures you got! I'm LOVING this new blog!!
Thank you for this delightful post on Pidorus gemina.
Thank you all for your kind words. I hope I'll come across another one like this again!
Hi Kanak, such a wonderful moth. The coulour is outstanding and also its feathery antennas. I do love moths best. Naturally not the ones who are partial of my cashmere sweater! I am always enchanted to find and see a very special one like this one.
Interesting. I wonder if you'll ever see another one? Good that you got a pic of this one.
Very nice indeed...
